She has taken classes taught by some of ITC's veteran performers, including Annie Bankes, Sean Magee, Matt Folliott, Kevin Patrick Robbins, Ted Hallett, and Ryan Maule.

She has also participated in improv workshops run by Bill Arnett, Charna Halpern, Taylor White, Ken Hall, and Leesa Gaspari.

Alex started performing onstage with the ITC in her first student team Swedish Rhapsody, which was coached by Rob Spenser, in December of 2010. Since then, she has performed on student teams The Bridges of Königsberg (coached by Robert Ariss Hills) and The Wilhelm Scream (coached by Spenser). Her first Incubater team, Big Chicken Dinner, was coached by Ryan Maule. She is currently performing on Muffin Top, which is coached by Jason Donovan.

Other improv projects include appearances on William Nishri's The Gong Show; the Cage Match 2011 team The Sexy Mistakes; as a guest performer on two teams from The Ladder competition at the Black Swan Tavern (Chaos Theory and Teenage Paranormal Romance); and Same Sheep, a duo team with Grace Moyer.

In addition, Alex faithfully attends, participates in, and sometimes guest-cohosts The Preserve, an open improv jam held every Thursday at the Black Swan.
